Being the daughter of an actor/politician can be daunting but there’s one actress out there who managed to carve out a niche of her own with just one film. Meet Sonakshi Sinha, the gorgeous and talented daughter of Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha who made the whole nation dance to her ‘mast mast do nain’ tune. She had a debut that most girls would kill for- opposite super Salman Khan.  In fact, according to sources, it was Salman Khan who offered her the role after being impressed by her at an award function.  The rest is history. Dabangg went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2010 and Sonakshi bagged quite a few awards including the Filmfare Award for the Best Female Debut, as Rajjo touched hearts with her unique style and ethnic appearance. 
However, not many people know the hard work that went on behind the scenes. Sonakshi lost a whopping 30 kgs over a period of 2 years in order to prepare for the film. Now’s that’s what we call dedication.

Originally a student of Fashion Designing from SNDT, Sonakshi started her career as a model in 2008. She has two brothers Luv and Kussh.
Her next few releases will also feature her in a desi avatar.  Ask the bubbly actress if she’s afraid of being typecast, she says, “I like such characters. They are very different in spite of being in the same Indian space... Moreover, I get enough opportunities in my Ads, in my shows, in my events to wear western outfits.''
However, the 24 year old is not against playing western roles if she feels that the script has substance and that she can carry it off.

The Sinha girl currently has her hands full with 5 of her films being up for release this year: Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Lootera, Son of Sardar and Dabangg 2.
